Pizzeria Perla in Sighişoara, a Pause Below the Citadel

After spending time within the walls of the citadel, it feels right to descend into everyday Sighișoara.   At street level, Pizzeria Perla offers a welcoming refuge.

The pizzas are cooked in a wood-fired oven and arrive simply, generously, and deliciously.  Nothing is overcomplicated. Flavours remain familiar and satisfying.   Locals fill many of the tables, giving the room a relaxed, lived-in atmosphere that gently contrasts with the formality of the upper town.

Seating extends both inside and outside. It is a good spot to sit quietly and watch Romanian daily life unfold, grounded and most importantly, offering many vegetarian options.  After stone walls and towers, this modest pizzeria provides exactly what is needed: warmth, ease, and a sense of returning to the present.
